Today, police in Thailand arrested Victor Bout on charges of supplying the FARC terrorist group in Colombia with weapons. Bout is the infamous arms dealer that was the inspiration for Nicholas Cage's character in the 2005 movie Lord of War. (Cage actually gave a fine performance in the film which is definitely worth renting).The New York Times reported that Bout, a Russian citizen, has been linked to illegal arms trades in Afghanistan, Angola, Congo, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sudan, and other places on your "must visit" list.
So well done, Thai police force. If only you could curb all that prostitution, too.
